At the 22nd Annual AVCA (African Private Capital Association) Conference & VC Summit, held in Nairobi, Kenya, from 27th April to 1st May, 2026, our Executive Director, Adekunle Adebiyi, joined leading voices in Africa’s creative economy for the panel session “Lights, Capital, Action: Africa’s Creative Boom”, where conversations focused on unlocking the next phase of growth across Africa’s creative economy.
From intellectual property monetisation and creative financing to infrastructure development and global distribution, the discussion reinforced a key message: Africa’s creative industries are not just cultural assets; they are scalable investment opportunities.
Adekunle highlighted the importance of recognising IP as bankable value, creating sustainable financing structures for creatives, and ensuring African creators retain ownership of the value they create.
As global demand for African stories, fashion, film, and music continues to rise, the opportunity to build globally competitive creative businesses from the continent has never been greater.
